NPO Description:
The American Red Cross is an organization of highly trained volunteers and staff. We seek to improve the quality of life for individuals and our community as a whole and strive to ease human suffering through education, preparation, prevention and direct response.
Why should we win?
The American Red Cross, St. Joseph County Chapter is always in need of volunteers - from the front desk receptionist to the Disaster Action Teams on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to respond to emergencies (most often house fires).
Additional volunteers are also needed to assist with our Refugee Resettlement Program. Volunteers welcome new arriving families to our community, assist with transportation needs (medical appointments, job interviews, etc). Volunteers also assist qualified refugees with their job search.
Monetary donations are also needed to fund the services we provide locally on a daily basis.
A Force 4 Good would help us increase our visibility within the community which in turn would help build our volunteer base and create a more trained and better prepared community.
